Molecular characterization, expression analysis and association study with immune traits of porcine PSMB6 gene

Abstract: PSMB6 subunit belongs to the 20S proteasomal subunit family, which plays an importance role in the antigen presentation by MHC class I molecular. The full-length genomic DNA sequence was obtained by PCR and the full-length CDS of porcine PSMB6 was isolated by the reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). The deduced protein of 239 amino acids showed 86% identity to the corresponding human sequence. RT-PCR revealed that porcine PSMB6 gene was expressed in seven tissues studied (heart, liver, spl… Show more

“…OLE can partly protect against HI-induced molecular and cellular pathology in piglet white matter [6,23]. Other than a few molecular cloning studies of swine proteasome subunit genes [69][70][71][72], there is scant information available on swine proteasomes. Little work has been done to characterize newborn piglet proteasomes with the exception of P20S immunolocalization in brain [6].…”

“…The 20S proteasome is responsible for the breakdown of shortlived proteins involved in cellular apoptosis, DNA repair, endocytosis, cell cycle regulation and for the rapid removal of misfolded proteins [30]. PSMB6 belongs to the 20S proteasomal subunit family, which participates in catalyzing ubiquitin-protein degradation [31].…”
