Abstract:Resonance Enhanced MultiPhoton Ionization spectroscopic techniques coupled with laser desorption and supersonic cooling have been employed to elucidate the photoactive properties of resveratrol. The observed excitation spectra give evidence for an internal-energy dependent trans–cis isomerisation pathway in the electronically excited state, while pump-probe studies show dynamics that are in line with what is known for the parent compound, trans-stilbene.
