Abstract: Transposases drive chromosomal rearrangements and the dissemination of drug-resistance genes and toxins1–3. Although some transposases act alone, many rely on dedicated AAA+ ATPase subunits that regulate site selectivity and catalytic function through poorly understood mechanisms.
