Soon after identifying the new genus, Pseudocuneopsis , two additional species, Pseudocuneopsis yangshuoensis Wu and Liu, 2023, and Pseudocuneopsis wuana Liu and Wu, 2023, were discovered in Guangxi through the analysis of the mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I ( COI ) gene (Liu et al., 2023; Wu et al., 2023).
