Molecular and crystal structure of Forskolin

Abstract

Forskolin crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group P2 1 2 1 2 1 with 4 molecules in the cell. It was possible to determine the relative configuration of the compound which is in contrast to that of Coleonol (Tandon et al., 1977). Forskolin and Coleonol are isolated from the Indian plant Coleus Forskohlii.
