Introduction. Dental sleep medicine is a branch of dental practice that deals with the treatment of sleep-related breathing disorders, including obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in adults and children. However, daily practice shows that other sleep disorders also concern dentistry, including orofacial pain associated with sleep, xerostomia, hypersalivation, gastroesophageal reflux disease, temporomandibular joint dysfunction, and bruxism. Purpose: on the basis of a thorough analysis of literary sources, to study the main methods of dental rehabilitation of adult patients with obstructive sleep apnea and to compare their effectiveness. Materials and methods. Information search and analysis of scientific sources using scientometric databases Web of Science, PubMed, Google Scholar over the past 15 years. Conclusion. The analysis of the literature data of recent years has shown the wide spread of dental pathology in patients with OSA and the need to develop and implement modern multidisciplinary approaches to the treatment of this contingent with the involvement of practicing dentists in health care practice. Key words: obstructive sleep apnea, dental pathology, tooth loss, mandibular advancement devices.

Classical literature is amalgam of such well known single and compound formulations which have been used based on age-long experience of traditional healers of Unani System of Medicine. Among various effective dosage forms in formulations, solids dosage form is most likable type. And in which pills or tablets are reported to be most commonly prepared, used in pharmaceuticals and health care services. In USM it was used in various diseases with the modification as per need. Banadiqul Buzoor (BB) is one of the oldest and specific type of pill used as an effective Unani Pharmacopeial Compound Formulation (UPCF) for renal ailments since ages. It is first reported to be prepared by an Egyptian physician Asclepius around 4th century B.C.

Knee osteoarthritis (Knee OA) is the most common Musculo-skeletal disorder, which causes functional disability thus, increasing the economic burden in the society. In conventional medicine it has been treated with various drugs i.e., NSAIDs, cox inhibitors and steroids. Although these drugs pose only symptomatic relief. In Unani medicine Osteoarthritis is treated with variety of regimens and drugs. Among these regimens Zimad (liniments) prepared with number of single Unani pharmacopeial drugs that exert anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anti-arthritic actions. Keeping this in mind a case study was conducted to assess the efficacy of Zimad containing drugs including Zingiber officinale Rosc, Saussurea lappa, Colchimum autumnale, Myristica fragrans Houtt and Matricara chamomile in the management of Knee OA for 14 sittings of alternate application for 28 days. A female patient with chief complaints of pain in left knee joint, along with the swelling, joint stiffness and mild tenderness feeling severe pain while performing daily activity for last 8 months was treated at IPD of the AKTC, AMU, Aligarh. The patient was assessed at baseline, 14th day and 28th day on the basis of changes in subjective and objective parameters. At the end of the treatment patient got significant relief in subjective (pain, joint stiffness and ROM) and objective parameters (VAS and WOMAC). The present study reveals that Zimad is safe and effective in the treatment of Knee OA without any side effect. Therefore, further randomized clinical studies need to be carried out to validate the effectiveness of Zimad in the management of Knee OA.
