MOF-Mediated Construction of NiCoMn-LDH Nanoflakes Assembled Co(OH)F Nanorods for Improved Supercapacitive Performance

Zhou Wang,
Yijie Lian,
Xinde Zhu
et al.

Abstract: The application of transition metal hydroxides has long been plagued by its poor conductivity and stability as well as severe aggregation tendency. In this paper, a novel hierarchical core–shell architecture, using an F-doped Co(OH)2 nanorod array (Co(OH)F) as the core and Mn/Ni co-doped Co(OH)2 nanosheets (NiCoMn-LDH) as the shell, was constructed via an MOF-mediated in situ generation method. The obtained Co(OH)F@ NiCoMn-LDH composites exhibited excellent supercapacitive performance with large specific capac… Show more

“…The presence of the NiO phase is evident, as the Ni 2+ and Ni 3+ peaks contain two satellite peaks, 2p3/2 and 2p1/2, at approximately 861.6 and 878.8 eV. Similarly, the Co 2p spectrum (Figure 2f) displays two peaks at 779.7 and 794.5 eV, corresponding to the Co 2+ valence states for Co 2p3/2 and Co 2p1/2, respectively [44]. These diverse oxidation states make both NiO and Co2O3 promising electrocatalysts for electrochemical activities.…”

“…The optimal NiCo-75:25-to-AC mass ratio was approximately 1:1, with an overall weight of about 3.1 mg cm −2 . The energy density (ED) in Wh kg −1 and power density (PD) in W kg −1 of the ASC were calculated using specific relationships, as given in Equations ( 3) and ( 4) [44].…”
