Abstract: The gram-positive bacterium Bacillus licheniformis exhibits obvious selective utilization on carbon sources. This process is mainly governed by the global regulator catabolite control protein A (CcpA), which can recognize and bind to multiple target genes widely distributed in metabolic pathways.
