Modulating optical properties and interfacial electron transfer of CsPbBr3 perovskite nanocrystals via indium ion and chlorine ion co-doping

Abstract: In this work, we demonstrated an in situ approach for doping CsPbBr3 nanocrystals (NCs) with In3+ and Cl− with a ligand-assisted precipitation method at room temperature. The In3+ and Cl− co-doped NCs are characterized by the powder x-ray diffraction patterns, ultraviolet–visible, photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy, time-resolved PL (TRPL), ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy, x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and transmission electron microscopy. Based on PL and TRPL results, the non-radiative nature of I… Show more

“…The excited-state interactions of perovskite NCs are also significantly influenced by the presence of surfactants on the surface of the nanocrystals [29,30]. Multiple strategies, such as the selection of different surface Ligands [31,32], ion doping [33,34], and post-synthesis treatment [35,36], can be used to achieve a longer carrier lifetime and rapid transfer of charge carriers.…”

“…CsPbX 3 can be doped with heterogeneous metal ions to replace Pb 2+ , thus reducing the amount of Pb. [23][24][25][26] Researchers also gured out that the doped ions can bring about new electric, optical, and magnetic properties. [27][28][29][30] Kim et al reported Ni 2+ -doped CsPbBr 3 PQDs in 2021.…”

“…Hot injection (HI), 15–17 ligand-assisted precipitation (LARP) 18–20 and mechanical milling 21,22 are widely used to prepare high-quality perovskite NCs. Different from the HI and LARP methods, mechanical milling avoided the massive use of organic solvents.…”
