Show more

“…It is focusing on the logistical activities of container transport systems inside a factory, for which it has developed a prototype for a modularized and scalable electric monorail system. -The project ''Master Plan -Logistics & Supply Chain Strategies for Modular Chemical and Pharmaceutical Production Systems'' (ModuLOG) is developing initial ideas for designing and utilizing modular logistics units in the process industry [9][10][11]. The aim must be to take up the work of this project, which is based around specific areas of application and logistics processes, and consistently develop it to create a building kit system of modular logistics solutions for the process industry.…”

“…Nonetheless, for some of the mentioned challenges there are solutions on hand or under research [27][28][29]. These solutions deal with market volatilities by sequential investments that have to be carried out with multiproduct continuous production which efficiently serve the supply chain and lower investment risks [30][31][32][33] in smart factories [34]. Plant flexibility is a key issue in this context [35][36][37].…”

“…Thes upply,c leaning, and filling modules were elaborated conceptually.A ll the modules conform with the ISO standards for containers.T he conceptual modules were designed as 3D models and their construction and applicability were confirmed by mass flow simulations. [34] Additional studies were made by Hachmann et al [35] Aconceptual modular container warehouse was developed based on the usual packing processes of pharmaceutical products.T his module enables the efficient packing of small batch sizes with storage near to the production site. [35] Furthermore,t he first interface standards to the supply module as well as to single apparatus within the module were prepared.…”
