Modular Learning Efficiency: Learner’s Attitude and Performance Towards Self-Learning Modules

Abstract: Learner’s attitude towards modular distance learning catches uncertainties as a world crisis occurs up to this point. As self-learning modules (SLMs) become a supplemental means of learning in new normal education, this study investigated efficiency towards the learners’ attitude and performance. Specifically, the study described the learners’ profile and their attitude and performance towards SLMs. It also ascertained the relationship between the learner’s profile with their attitude and performance, as well … Show more

“…The learners fairly attained the learning outcomes set by the teachers with the curriculum standards. This result is similar to Bacomo et al (2022), where learners performed satisfactorily with their self-learning modules. Additionally, this affirms Pentang (2021a), where learners under a home study program could work independently with their self-learning modules.…”

“…With the COVID-19's existing challenges, the learning process should be done at home using self-learning modules (Agayon et al, 2022;Bacomo et al, 2022;Bonilla et al, 2022;Hamora et al, 2022). The modules are given by teachers to their learners in different subject areas to specific grade levels to be answered at home with the help of the learner's parents and then submitted to the concerned teachers for checking on the scheduled date and time given by the teachers during Homeroom.…”

“…When coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) strikes the Philippines, modular distance learning arises for continuity (Agayon et al, 2022;Bacomo et al, 2022;Bonilla et al, 2022;Hamora et al, 2022). Since parents prefer this type of distant learning, school systems use printed and electronic modules (Bernardo, 2020).…”

“…Perhaps it is a problem all over the Philippines. Among the challenges are the distribution and retrieval of modules (Agayon et al, 2022;Bacomo et al, 2022;Bonilla et al, 2022;Hamora et al, 2022). Teachers encountered difficulties in distributing and retrieving modules in modular distance learning modalities.…”
