The senior author Shiao, had introduced a modified version of the traditional stapes surgery, called minimally traumatic stapes surgery (MTSS), and explored its effectiveness in reducing postoperative vertigo. However, MTSS exhibited no significant breakthrough in terms of audiometric results.
