Modified hybrid PWM technique for cascaded MLI and cascaded MLI application for DTC drive

Abstract: Multilevel inverter is increasingly utilised for DC/AC conversion in multiple electrical power applications due to its wide capabilities, low switching losses, and reduced output harmonics. Multilevel inverter faces some problems related to complex control, and high number of components. This paper presents a modified multilevel inverter topology that needs only three DC sources and eight switches to generate thirteen voltage levels. This high number of voltage levels enhances the multilevel inverter performan… Show more

“…Multilevel inverters (MLIs) have attracted a lot of attention in recent years for their potential use in electrical and industrial systems, as well as their high efficiency, simplicity of operation, and lack of electromagnetic interference (EMI). Additionally, MLIs may be quickly connected to renewable energy sources, including photovoltaic solar panels and wind turbines [1]- [3]. Numerous MLI topologies have been suggested by scholars since the 1970s.…”

“…MLIs can also be readily linked to a number of renewable energy sources, such as photovoltaic and wind turbines. Numerous MLI topologies and hybrid pulse width modulation techniques have been proposed since the 1970s [1]- [5]. Furthermore, due to the high voltage requirements and switch stress, the 2-level inverter will only be used for low and medium voltage applications.…”

“…In recent years, there has been a lot of interest in multi-level inverters (MLIs) because of their potential uses in industrial and electrical systems, as well as their minimal electromagnetic interference, ease of control, and high efficiency. Additionally, it is possible to link it up to various renewable energy sources such as wind turbines, and photovoltaic solar panels [1]- [8]. Since 1970, various topologies have been developed [9].…”
