Abstract: Curcuminoids, namely curcumin, demethoxycurcumin, and bisdemethoxycurcumin, are the major active compounds found in Curcuma longa L. (turmeric). Although their suppressive effects on bone resorption have been demonstrated, their pharmacokinetic disadvantages remain a concern.
