Modified carbon paste ion selective electrode for determining Cr(iii) ions in aqueous solutions and some real samples using tetragonal zirconia nanoparticles

Abstract: Tetragonal zirconia (t-ZrO2) nanoparticles (ionophore) are used in newly designed and improved ion selective electrodes for chromium ion detection as an alternative, low-cost, high-precision, and selectivity method.

“…One of the most important aspects of an ion-selective electrode is undoubtedly its selectivity behavior, which determines the feasibility of a trustworthy measurement in the target sample. For a number of inorganic cations, sugars, amino acids, and related compounds, the separated solution method [ 54 ] and the matched potential method [ 55 ] were used to determine the selectivity coefficients for MTF cations. How different substances affect the response of MTF-PT, MTF-PT-Al 2 O 3 , and MTF-PT-NiO-coated wire membrane sensors was investigated.…”

“…They offer several benefits, including improved ionic mobility, increased sensing material solubility, and decreased total bulk resistance of the sensor due to the polarity properties. They enhanced the mechanical link between every one of the electroactive carbon particles into a homogenous compact combination 35 , 36 . Various solvent mediators (DEHP, TOCP, DBP, o-NPOE, DIBP) were subjected to potentiometric measurement, and the obtained findings are shown in Fig.…”
