Modification of Screen Printed Carbon Electrode (SPCE) with Fe3O4 for the Determination of Nitrite (NO2-) in Squarewave Voltammetry

Abstract: Nitrite is one of the food preservatives that the government permits, but on the use of over limits can cause endanger health, so it is necessary to control the content of nitrite in the food. Modification of electrodes on a screen printed carbon electrode (SPCE) with Fe 3 O 4 has been successfully done for determination of nitrite. Modification of the electrode has been done by electrodeposition with cyclic voltammetry. Electrodeposition successfully performed with an electrolyte solution of FeCl 3 in ethanol… Show more

“…In our previous work, we also had successfully prepared the nata de coco membrane added with Fe 3 O 4 on the SPCE (screen-printed carbon electrode) surface for the diazinon sensor [18]. Preparation of the Fe 3 O 4 -modified electrode for measurement of other ions or molecules in solution was also reported, such as for ascorbic acid [19], chlorite ions [20], and nitrite ions [21].…”

“…Among the nanomaterial types, Fe 3 O 4 nanoparticles are widely used as contact materials in the sensor's manufacture as modified materials of working electrodes. The modified electrode using Fe 3 O 4 nanoparticles has been applied in ascorbic acid measurements [11], determination of chlorite ions in aqueous media [12] and the determination of nitrite ions [13]. In this study, SPCE (screen printed carbon electrode) modification using Fe 3 O 4 nanoparticles will be used to analyze diazinon.…”
