Sunflower trypsin inhibitor‐1 (SFTI‐1) structure is used for designing‐grafted peptides as a possible therapeutic agent. The grafted peptide exhibits multiple conformations in solution due to the presence of proline in the structure of the peptide. To lock the grafted peptide into a major conformation in solution, a dibenzofuran moiety (DBF) was incorporated in the peptide backbone structure, replacing the Pro‐Pro sequence. NMR studies indicated a major conformation of the grafted peptide in solution. Detailed structural studies suggested that SFTI‐DBF adopts a twisted beta‐strand structure in solution. The surface plasmon resonance analysis showed that SFTI‐DBF binds to CD58 protein. A model for the protein‐SFTI‐DBF complex was proposed based on docking studies. These studies suggested that SFTI‐1 grafted peptide can be used to design stable peptides for therapeutic purposes by grafting organic functional groups and amino acids. However, when a similar strategy was used with another grafted peptide, the resulting peptide did not produce a single major conformation, and its biological activity was lost. Thus, conformational constraints depend on the sequence of amino acids used for SFTI‐1 grafting.

Some sellers and buyers in global centres of trading and consumption of art and antiquities try to change attitudes towards cultural goods from zones of conflict and crisis by asserting that many or most have been transferred by refugees. Some law enforcement agents and humanitarian aid workers deny that there is any evidence of such flows. With a primary focus on the people who are involved rather than the objects that are handled, through open-source research, this paper documents more than a century of cases of illegal appropriation (through looting or theft), export and trading of cultural objects by internally displaced persons and externally displaced persons, who have been forced to leave environments of oppression, genocide, war, terrorism and economic-environmental degradation in Latin America, Africa, Asia and Europe, and who are forced to engage in subsistence crime. Due to a range of factors that are considered under the limitations of the evidence, little of the material relates to events in Europe in the 20 th century.However, this is being discussed at a time when the management of migration and the policing of crime are being merged into a policing of "crimmigration". So, this paper challenges the risky perceptions among market actors that legal collections are significant sources and that refugees with legal or illegal collections are significant actors. Purchases of undocumented antiquities are more likely to finance violent political organisations. Law enforcement agencies and migration management agencies should adapt by protecting subsistence criminals and mobilising their intelligence against the violent political organisations that are driving displacement.

Balancing Bulkiness in Gold(I) Phosphino‐triazole Catalysis

The syntheses of a series of 1‐phenyl‐5‐phosphino 1,2,3‐triazoles are disclosed, within which, the phosphorus atom (at the 5‐position of a triazole) is appended by one, two or three triazole motifs, and the valency of the phosphorus(III) atom is completed by two, one or zero ancillary (phenyl or cyclohexyl) groups respectively. This series of phosphines was compared with tricyclohexylphosphine and triphenylphosphine to study the effect of increasing the number of triazoles appended to the central phosphorus atom from zero to three triazoles. Gold(I) chloride complexes of the synthesised ligands were prepared and analysed by techniques including single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction structure determination. Gold(I) complexes were also prepared from 1‐(2,6‐dimethoxy)‐phenyl‐5‐dicyclohexyl‐phosphino 1,2,3‐triazole and 1‐(2,6‐dimethoxy)‐phenyl‐5‐diphenyl‐phosphino 1,2,3‐triazole ligands. The crystal structures thus obtained were examined using the SambVca (2.0) web tool and percentage buried volumes determined. The effectiveness of these gold(I) chloride complexes to serve as precatalysts for alkyne hydration were assessed. Furthermore, the regioselectivity of hydration of but‐1‐yne‐1,4‐diyldibenzene was probed.
