The processes of softening drinking water have been studied quite widely, and the technologies used have a wide range of equipment used and aggregation capabilities. The development of membrane technologies provides virtually unlimited technological possibilities for water treatment [1], and classical ion exchange solutions are also widely used, more in industry [2]. Of course, the use of such solutions is associated with certain and considerable operating costs. At the same time, it is a well-known fact that modern softening systems require not only qualified and timely maintenance, but also form wastewater flows. Utilization of the generated wastewater can be a difficult task to solve, despite the advantages of membrane and ion exchange technologies in the processes of drinking water treatment, since water supply organizations are usually underfunded due to the social function of the water supply tariff [3]. This article shows the possibility of implementing environmental technology to reduce water hardness without the formation of associated wastewater. Softening in a suspended layer of sand refers to modern methods of reagent softening of water. These are the so-called devices of intensified softening.

Reducing the negative environmental impact and securing the efficient use of water resources are key factors in the mining-metallurgical industry. At the enterprises of non-ferrous metallurgy the residual waters contaminated by a substantial amount of ions of heavy metals, sulphates and other impurities are formed. A promising way of their deep treatment consists in membrane technologies. This paper presents the results of pilot testing of ultrafiltration, electrodialysis, reverse osmosis and ion exchange technologies for purification residual waters of metallurgical enterprise of the Middle Ural. The possibility of using these technologies to achieve the final result – obtaining treated water, that meets the standards for fishery water bodies, is presented. It is reasonable to use the resulting water for the technical needs of the enterprise, which will significantly reduce the fresh water consumption and the environmental load, providing the ecological and economic benefits.

Surgical treatment of breast cancer (BC) has undergone significant changes over the past half century. Oncoplastic operations are a relatively new variant of organ-preserving surgical treatment of breast cancer. Its idea is to combine the principles of oncology and plastic surgery in order to obtain oncological safe and cosmetic acceptable results. Despite the widespread implementation of these operations, high-quality studies on the benefits of oncoplastic operations in comparison with other methods are not enough. Actual issues of breast cancer oncoplastic surgery was considered in this literature review, such as indications for surgery, classification of oncoplastic techniques, determination of positive resection margins, evaluation of recurrence and survival, postoperative complications, cosmetic result.The authors declare no conflict of interest.The authors confirm that they respect the rights of the people participated in the study, including obtaining informed consent when it is necessary, and the rules of treatment of animals when they are used in the study (Conclusion of the local Ethics Committee at Northern State Medical University of 08.04.2015, Protocol No. 02/4-15).
