“…Recently, Marques et al . attempted the temporary occlusion of iliac arteries by intra‐arterial balloon inflation during TCR and successfully removed RPOC without profuse bleeding . Regarding caution, this case report revealed that temporarily reducing blood flow is sufficient to protect against massive bleeding during the treatment.…”

“…Since our patient wished to conceive in the future and her serum hemoglobin level was decreased to 7.7 g/dl at the initial visit, prompt control of bleeding and complete removal of the placental polyp without any effect on future fertility were desirable. Although Marques et al [11] have reported a case managed successfully with temporary internal iliac balloon occlusion followed by complete hysteroscopic resection as an alternative to UAE, we have had an interest in intraoperative injection of PGF 2a as a less-invasive approach. Murakami et al [12] first reported that injection of 500 lg of PGF 2a is effective for treating a nonpedunculated submucous leiomyoma and that local injection is superior to systemic administration because of its local and short-term effect.…”

“…However, UAE may not be an ideal option in patients with intent for future pregnancy because of the risks of ovarian function failure and endometrial atrophy [9,10]. Marques et al [11] reported a case managed successfully with temporary internal iliac balloon occlusion, as an alternative to UAE, followed by complete hysteroscopic resection.…”

“…Most of the disorder occurs after artificial abortion or spontaneous delivery. However, it rarely occurs after spontaneous abortion [2]. It is quite important to recognize the risks of placental polyp because more attention can be paid, and early diagnosis may prevent fatal postpartum hemorrhage.…”

“…Its incidence is estimated to be less than 0.25% of all pregnancies [2]. The symptom of the disease is frequent postpartum hemorrhage, but it is sometimes asymptomatic.…”
