The purpose of the presented study was to analyse the implementation of digital systems in higher education in the digital age. Such transformations have to meet several goals, such as reducing costs, increasing efficiency, equity and quality of learning. The methods used to collect data included a thorough review of the cultural theory literature, original texts, and secondary literature research from SCOPUS, Google Scholar, and Research Gate. The findings indicate that while online learning has its advantages, it is also important to consider the limitations that depend on the specific methods of use. In the context of the digital transformation of higher education, students enjoy a variety of opportunities and autonomy, but face limitations that largely depend on the form of learning. The role of a trainer or facilitator becomes important to ensure the quality and effectiveness of learning, especially in a virtual environment where the relationship between teacher and student is of particular importance. Given the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic and the conflict in Ukraine, a combination of face-to-face and distance learning is becoming key to ensuring flexibility and avoiding the effects of the crisis. E-learning includes the creation of digital platforms that are becoming an integral part of digital transformation, which is being intensified by the need for remote work and study. We conclude that successful e-learning requires a careful analysis of the student's context and a shift from teacher-centred to student-centred pedagogy. As the choice of the best digital tool is complex, it is important to analyse each tool repeatedly and critically. All of these aspects point to the complexity of the modern educational environment and the need to implement optimal pedagogical approaches that take into account the technological capabilities and needs of modern students.

Trends and Vectors of Development of Information Educational Resources in the Context of Military Aggression

Under conditions of large-scale military aggression, Ukrainians had to mobilize and clearly respond to radical changes in all spheres of life. The education system updates and diversifies educational resources, disciplinary knowledge, and demonstrates readiness for all possible types of education: off-line (in regions without warfare), online (in red zones and in case of massive rocket attacks), hybrid education, individualized education (for refugees), etc. Education in war involves the use of a variety of information resources and technologies, in addition, involves research operations, selection, use, resulting in a powerful educational system response experience. In fact, in the past three years, humanity became a witness of significant changes in the information landscape available to education. Thus, it can be noted that all these reasons developed the proliferation of online learning and social platforms, the increasing complexity of information storage and sharing methods. Namely, it is the education that offers the deployment of private or free educational resources, or the generalization of content sharing platforms, community websites, or the personal blogs of teachers.

The war launched by Russia has created new challenges for universities, including massive student migration abroad and massive displacement of students within Ukraine from the frontline areas. Many students lost access to quality education or had their studies interrupted by the war. Recognizing these problems, universities are trying to find different solutions. One such approach may be to introduce inter-university online courses that will be recognized by partner universities. In this case study, we analyze the effectiveness of inter-university online courses as an approach to restoring education for students severely affected by the war and as a way to maintain the quality of education in small groups at universities. The online course "Integrated Life Science Course" was taken for analysis, which was taught both to biology students from different universities in Ukraine within the framework of the educational project supported by German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Using statistics on course registration and attendance, as well as interview methodology, we assessed students' motivation to participate in this online course, course satisfaction, and learning outcomes, and identified shortcomings and pitfalls to avoid in similar courses. The survey and the results of the final test show that the main motivator for students to register and study at the course was the desire to gain new knowledge for further professional growth. A scholarship was also an important argument to enroll in the course; however, it did not impact the motivation of students to study. The fraction of students that successfully passed the final exam (~70%) was equal in the cohorts that had and had not been awarded scholarships. Thus, the scholarship was not a motivator to complete the course and successfully pass the exam to receive the certificate. Therefore, in order for such courses to be productive and effective, it is necessary to emphasize student motivation during selecting procedure.
