Modern Approaches to Studying Rural Everyday Life and Rural Culture in the Context of Rural Tourism Development

Abstract

The article presents a survey of modern studies of rural everyday life and rural culture as the key features of rural tourism. The author describes a modern domestic attempt of studying rural everyday life within such scientific trend as peasant studies, characterizes foreign approaches to analysing rural culture as a particular area of scientific interest. It is shown that modern Russian studies on rural tourism do not sufficiently use the existing potential of culturological analysis. The conclusion is made that there is a necessity to expand this analysis within the framework of agricultural universities’ research activity.
