Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are today considered a driving force in several nations' economies. Inter-organizational knowledge transfer (IOKT) enables organizations including SMEs to improve operational and strategic performance. To enhance SMEs' competitive advantages, they need external knowledge to enrich learning capabilities. This study uses qualitative methodology to examine the values that can be generated from the IOKT process in SMEs. Participants were 10 Omani SMEs from the ICT sector, a knowledge-intensive sector. Based on face-to-face, semi-structured interviews, the results confirmed that inter-organizational knowledge transfer is considered important to SMEs. Results indicated that learning benefits are gained from informal IOKT activities at those SMEs, but they do not yet show a strong impact on the innovation performance of organizations. Thus, this study provides valuable insights for researchers and practitioners interested in the SME domain to use as a basis for their investigations.

This research investigates the effects of knowledge creation on organisational social innovation in R&D organisations. Organisational social innovation deviated from the concept by presenting a new paradigm in business, the potential for innovation of which was viewed as knowledge creation as a factor to solve business economic problems and unfulfilled demands in society. In the post-industrial era, managing intellectual assets has become a crucial component of organisational effectiveness. Organisations require knowledge creation that will enable them to respond quickly to changes, fulfil the demand for constantly changing business knowledge, and improve their ability for long-term organisational innovation. As a result, this research investigates the impact of knowledge creation on the achievement of organisational social innovation. However, there is a lack of interest of previous researcher in this area. In this paper, a partial least squares structural equation model (PLS-SEM) was used, and a survey questionnaire was chosen to collect data for this descriptive study. This finding includes 171 Malaysian R&D organisations. This study showed a substantial relationship between knowledge creation and organisational social innovation. The findings of this study extended and improved knowledge-based view (KBV), emphasising the need of understanding a firm's competitive advantage in terms of knowledge creation on achievement of organisational social innovation. However, this study has some limitations, especially in terms of breadth and sample size. Furthermore, the application of current criteria may limit the examination of additional determinants.

Nowadays, the relevance of technology transfer center network has been greatly increased due to interdisciplinary modern innovations, and cross-sectoral collaboration in project implementation. This paper highlights theoretical and conceptual foundations of technology transfer, and the role of innovation and knowledge. The main purpose of the paper is to analyze the experience of creating technology transfer networks in Russia, and to develop prospective national technology transfer model based on the concept of innovation ecosystem and open innovation. Being a knowledge integrator, a university plays a vital role in technology transfer. The presented study makes contribution to the academic literature by providing a synthesis on related concepts of open innovation, network, and ecosystem approaches to technology transfer. The results of this analysis provide information on prospective models for creating a network of technology transfer in Russia. That will help academics, policymakers, government, and business owners with a more depth understanding of the practical mechanisms that support innovation strategy.
