To identify the role and importance of local renewable energy resource integration on power distribution systems, this work presents a survey on how Active Distribution Systems capture benefits from this kind of energy resources. Also, this paper introduces the basic concepts of two economics tools that can help in the environmental valuation of local renewable energy projects, along with a discussion on the role of energy currencies in the development of renewable energy. As a conclusion, thanks to the advent of concepts such as "prosumer" and emergent technologies such as digital currencies, it is possible to achieve financial and economic viability for local renewable energy projects with the aid of Active Distribution Networks.

Distributed Generation has drawn the attention of industrialists and researchers for quite a time now due to the advantages it brings loads. In addition to cost-effective and environmentally friendly, but also brings higher reliability coefficient power system. The DG unit is placed close to the load, rather than increasing the capacity of main generator. This methodology brings many benefits, but has to address some of the challenges. The main is to find the optimal location and size of DG units between them. The purpose of this paper is distributed generation by adding an additional means to reduce losses on the line. This paper attempts to optimize the technology to solve the problem of optimal location and size through the development of multi-objective particle swarm. The problem has been reduced to a mathematical optimization problem by developing a fitness function considering losses and voltage distribution line. Fitness function by using the optimal value of the size and location of this algorithm was found to be minimized. IEEE-14 bus system is being considered, in order to test the proposed algorithm and the results show improved performance in terms of accuracy and convergence rate.

Abstract-The generation of power by photovoltaic (PV) systems is constantly increasing in low-voltage (LV) distribution grids, in line with the European environmental targets. To cope with the effects on grid voltage profiles during high generation and low demand periods, new solutions need to be established. In the long term, these solutions should also aim to allow further more PV installed capacity, while meeting the power quality requirements. In this paper, different concepts of energy storage are proposed to ensure the voltage quality requirements in a LV grid with high PV penetration. The proposed storage concepts can cooperate with reactive power methods and can be used to avoid grid reinforcement and active power curtailment. For the study, a residential LV grid with high share of PV generation is used. Simulation results show substantial benefits for the LV feeders operation, as well as an increased potential for local consumption.
