Modelling the supply chain perception gaps

Abstract: This study applies the research of perception gap analysis to supply chain integration and develops a generic model, the 3-Level Gaps Model, with the goal of contributing to harmonization and integration in the supply chain. The model suggests that significant perception gaps may exist among supply chain members with regards to the importance of different performance criteria. The concept of the model is conceived through an empirical and inductive approach, com-bining the research discipline of supply chain r… Show more

“…The premise of this research is largely based on the authors' hypothesized conceptual model in Lu et al (2013) that the perception gap, in terms of wider definition, exists in three different levels. Considering any dyadic link between two tiers -the supplier tier and the buyer tier, the perception gap can be illustrated and framed by a 3-Level Gaps model as shown in Figure 1.…”

“…This research is motivated mainly by earlier empirical findings that KPI influenced perception gaps exist in three levels of a service supply chain. For any service supply chain echelon between two tiers composed of several suppliers (tier) and single buyer (tier), the perception gaps can be illustrated and framed by a three-level gaps model (Lu et al , 2014), which is illustrated in Figure 1.…”
