Modelling of the optical planar waveguide based on (Yb,Nb):RTP/RTP(001) system for cell counting

Abstract: In this work, we demonstrated metal tagged cell counting based on planar waveguide (Yb,Nb):RTP/RTP(001) system with the help of optical simulations. This will enable the rapid counting of metal-tagged objects that lies in the evanescent field of the waveguide. This proposed design can be used for counting metal-tagged cells or other molecules that can scatter energy from the waveguide. In our approach, a visible light at 633 nm with TM polarization is used and calculated the output power in relation to the den… Show more

“…In the second methodology, indicator dyes are immobilized at the fibre tip. Last but not the least, the fibre or waveguide itself forms the sensing element using the evanescent field extending from the core to interact with the chemical species (10,11). This method is of particular interest as it allows the development of distributed sensor systems.…”
