Abstract:<p>The transport of cosmic rays in turbulent magnetic fields is commonly investigated by solving the Newton-Lorentz equation of test particles in synthetic turbulence fields. These fields are typically generated from superpositions of Fourier modes with prescribed power spectrum and uncorrelated random phases, bringing the advantage of covering a wide range of turbulence scales at manageable computational effort. However, almost all of these models to date only account for second-order Gaussian s… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
