Modelling Failure Conditions in Zigbee based Wireless Sensor Networks

Abstract: Reliable data transmissions in sensor networks are important for its longevity and require research attention. Since, fault tolerance and reliability become vital for embedded systems, estimating failure scenarios aid WSN applications to establish robust backup mechanisms in case of failures in the network. The article aims to model failure in IEEE 802.15.4 Zigbee networks in order to estimate the longevity of the network in context to the network connectivity. Ideally, IEEE 802.15.4 can manage two types of ne… Show more

“…While we studied other scientific researches regarding SDR and low energy signal penetration we found out that the advantages of our point of view provides better and reliable results, comparing to other methods. In addition, we used the failure in IEEE 802.15.4 ZigBee networks to estimate the life cycle of the network in context of the network property [1] and made our stress check and man-in-the-middle attacks on the behalf of this.…”

“…Each node will coordinate with another concurrent node which is called as a sink node. The sink node will play very important role as it is responsible for real-time data display and coordinating other control signals [3]. If sink node fails there will be a chance so that the data will be lost everlastingly with no probability of recuperation, which makes this technology a limited version due to the lagging of information during the failure in communication and makes hard to detect any variations.…”
