Modelling and optimization of traffic loads of the radio access network

Abstract

This article presents a methodology for mod elling and optimization of radio interfaces of 2G, 3G and 4G access networks. The basics for modelling of interfaces with embedded traffic management mechanisms are described and discussed. A particular attention is given to the problems stemming from the introduction of the IP technology to the 3G and 4G radio access networks.
