Modelling and Optimization in Microgrids

Abstract: Abstract:The expansion of renewable energies is progressing strongly. The influence on the power supply networks by the variability of the infeed must be met with new concepts. In this paper, we investigate the possibilities of integrating microgrids as a cooperating unit in the power supply network to support further expansion of renewable energy sources (RES) power plants. In this paper, a differentiation of microgrids from similar network structures is established, and a classification of proposed groups is… Show more

“…Hence, those virtual output-impedance loops can solve this problem. Therefore, the output impedance becomes another control variable; (3) This method is load-dependent frequency deviation, which implies a phase deviation between the output-voltage frequency of the UPS system and the input voltage provided by the grid; (4) The DC bus voltage deviation increases with the load due to the Droop action; (5) The sources are scheduled in groups rather than as individual sources, and the state change depends on the sources power minimum and maximum limits.…”

“…Some electric and thermal loads, a photovoltaic (PV) rooftop plant, a building automation system and electrical and thermal storage systems have been installed. The pilot site is integrated into the concept of a Smart Community of microgrids that is several areas interconnected from the point of view of energy production and consumption [5].…”

“…According to that, the P2P control architecture introduced in Section 2 seems to be a good infrastructure for the exchange of data and control actions among the DERs of microgrids. To create an operational peer able to run in the communication network of a smart microgrid, several software layers need to be built [57,84,85]. The proposed communication architecture is based on a structured decentralized peer-to-peer overlay network and it is depicted in Figure 6.…”

“…The above-mentioned activities lead to a reduction of the overall costs of the company in its functioning [9]. An increasing number of water company utilities attach great importance to more responsible energy management [10], which is related, among other things, to the need for more efficient and reliable management of the drinking water supply system [11]. Energy issues have been important priorities for the development of socio-economic policies of most countries in the world for a number of years.…”
