Modelling 3D Steam Turbine Flow Using Thermodynamic Properties of Steam Iapws-95

Abstract: An approach to approximate equations of state for water and steam (IAPWS-95) for the calculation of three-dimensional flows of steam in turbomachinery in a range of operation of the present and future steam turbines is described. Test calculations of three-dimensional viscous flow in an LP steam turbine using various equations of state (perfect gas, Van der Waals equation, equation of state for water and steam IAPWS-95) are made. The comparison of numerical results with experimental data is also presented.Keyw… Show more

“…The feature of positiveness of the constructed function in internal points of the object is very convenient for realization of 3D printing. Having equation of an object, one can easily obtain equation of its any cross section which is useful in numerical calculations using CFD-methods (e. g. [19]), namely, when constructing computational meshes.…”

“…These parameters include roughness n (rank 2) and water surface slope i (rank 3). Therefore, we should strengthen the study of water level-discharge relation parameters and improve the quality of early warning and forecasting of flash flood (Rusanow et al 2016, Pina-Garcia et al 2016, Kim et al 2018.…”

“…To reduce computational cost, an interpolation-analytical method of representation of thermodynamic functions is used. This method was first applied to take into account the thermodynamic properties of water and steam in 3D calculations based on the IAPWS-95 equation of state in [29]. According to this approach, the required thermodynamic functions are determined from the following dependencies:…”
