Modeling the Relationship between Business Process Reengineering and Organizational Culture

Abstract: Business process reengineering (BPR) has been widely known for its effectiveness in generating chances for organizational improvement. Understanding and modeling the relationship between the factors that contribute to the BPR and organizational culture (OC) is critical for the success of its implementation. This paper introduces a fuzzy-based analytical hierarchy process, named FAHP, for integrating the factors affecting BPR with OC to ensure the BPR’s success. First, a real case study was conducted to investi… Show more

“…The change matrix is a practical tool however, in dealing with uncertainty, especially in the determination of critical processes it should be supported by other methods. In this sense, some integrated methods based on fuzzy logic are developed and used in the literature for different purposes such as; risk management of BPR initiatives by using triangular fuzzy sets (Crowe et al ., 2002), fuzzy quality function deployment technique to convert opinions of experts to quantitative data (Hakim et al ., 2016), or fuzzy analytical hierarchy process method to weight BPR dimensions (Rostamy et a.l, 2012; Fetais et al ., 2022b). It is a well-known fact that the conventional fuzzy set theory developed by Zadeh in 1965, along with more refined versions formulated by numerous researchers over the years, is crucial for modelling uncertainties.…”

“…What is more, business process reengineering uses a significant number of tools and techniques within the conventional framework, but it primarily focuses on unifying functions at the macro-organizational level. This means that subprocesses can be kept within the framework of one function or division and business process reengineering can also be applied to them [5].…”
