Modeling, Simulation and Control Studies on Photovoltaic-Converter System for Mechatronics Design of Solar Electric Application

Abstract: Abstract-This paper presents some considerations regarding design, modeling and control solutions for Photovoltaic PanelConverter (PVPC) system. Different control approaches and corresponding models are derived, developed and tested, to control output characteristics and performance of both overall PVPC system and each subsystem to meet desired output characteristics, performance and both and/or either voltages and currents requirements. The proposed approaches and models allow designer have the maximum output… Show more

“…It should be remembered that when Np is equal to 1 and Ns represents all batteries in the series, it is only connected to the PV module. Therefore, considering the elimination of the parallel resistance, the output current of the PV module must be changed as presented in Equation 8 [56]. (8) According to the non-linearity of the output current, in this case, appropriate non-linear methods should be used, like the easy fixed point method, Newton Raphson's technique.…”

“…As mentioned above, PV modules are formed by series, parallel or combined connections of PV cells. Various mathematical models are used to determine the equivalent current–voltage characteristics (I–V characteristics) of such connections (Hansen et al , 2001; Alboteanu et al , 2008; Salem, 2014; Honsberg and Bowden, 2019).…”

“…Consequently, the radiation accident on the module has a direct effect on the current delivered by the module, which in turn affects the fill factor and efficiency. F. A. Salem [3] This overview provides various general and innovative mathematical models as well as Simulink models of photovoltaic (PV) systems based on the desired readability and specific application. The proposed models are developed and tested so that the designer has the maximum of visual and graphic digital data, selection, design and analysis of a particular photovoltaic system based on the desired performance and performance under certain conditions.…”
