Modeling of shock-wave loading of magnesium silicates on the example of forsterite

Abstract: The results of modeling the shock-wave loading of Mg2SiO4 forsterite, which in this case is considered as a mixture of SiO2 quartz and MgO periclase, are presented. The model is based on the assumption that the components of the mixture under shock-wave loading are in thermodynamic equilibrium.
