Modeling of Saturation Due to Main and Leakage Flux Interaction in Induction Machines

Abstract: Abstract-Saturation due to the main flux and rotor leakage flux interaction appears in induction machines, especially if the rotor slots are skewed or closed. Conventional saturation models used in connection with dynamic equivalent-circuit models do not take this phenomenon into account. In this paper, explicit functions for modeling this mutual saturation are proposed. These functions are physically reasonable, they are easy to fit, and the number of their parameters is small. The proposed functions can be u… Show more

“…In the implemented model in [16], the total number of parameters in (17) was 13. In addition to (17), separate models for the incremental inductances were applied. Typically, the accuracy of polynomial models deteriorates significantly outside the range of the data, which can be a limitation in some applications.…”

“…The parameter values used in the figure are given in Table I. The parameters necessary for including the influence of the torque were obtained from [20], where the same machine as used in this paper was analysed under loaded conditions. In this paper, the model in (11) is used since it has only three parameters.…”
