Abstract:Cr(VI) contamination of soil and groundwater is considered a major environmental concern. Bioreduction of Cr(VI) to Cr(III) can be considered a potentially effective technology in remediating Cr(VI) contaminated sites. Shewanella oneidensis MR-1 (MR-1) is one of the bacteria capable of reducing Cr(VI) to Cr(III) under anaerobic conditions. The kinetics of Cr(VI) reduction by MR-1 is defined by the dual-enzyme kinetic model which is nonlinear, transient, and zero-order. Existing transport models are not designe… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
