Abstract:The resetting semi-active stiffness damper (RSASD) has proven effective in reducing the seismic response of structures. However, it relies on a multi-component feedback control system that is subject to reliability issues. Recently, research was conducted to replace components of the system with a mechanism that enables a similar control performance. The resulting resetting semi-passive stiffness damper (RSPSD) offers increased reliability without compromising effectiveness. To date, a model of the RSPSD has b… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
