Modeling and Optimization of Beam Pumping System Based on Intelligent Computing for Energy Saving

Abstract: Beam pumping system which is widely used in petroleum enterprises of China is one of the most energy-consuming equipment. It is difficult to be modeled and optimized due to its complication and nonlinearity. To address this issue, a novel intelligent computing based method is proposed in this paper. It firstly employs the general regression neural network (GRNN) algorithm to obtain the best model of the beam pumping system, and secondly searches the optimal operation parameters with improved strength Pareto ev… Show more

“…For example, Costa's model could be further expanded, using the spare processing power made available through software optimization. Another line of study could lie in its use in well parameter optimization; for example, either maximizing oil production or minimizing energy consumption, integrating works such as those of Gu et al [16] and Xing and Dong [17].…”

“…In particular, the study by Zhang and Zhang [15] investigated the dynamic reactions of a hydraulic plunger pump by numerical simulation. Gu et al and Zi-Ming et al [16,17] presented mechanical and mathematical modeling of velocity and acceleration of the rod string suspension point which refer to the loading in the polished rods.…”
