Modeling and Optimal Design for a High Stability 2D Optoelectronic Angle Sensor

Abstract: The structural deformations caused by environmental changes in temperature, vibration, and other factors are harmful to the stability of high precision measurement equipment. The stability and optimal design method of a 2D optoelectronic angle sensor have been investigated in this study. The drift caused by structural deformations of the angle sensor has been studied and a drift error model has been achieved. Key components sensitive to thermal and vibrational effects were identified by error sensitivity analy… Show more

“…Although the use of a DVD pickup head is convenient; this part is extremely com such that any component change is impossible. Following the optical configuration DVD pickup head, a compact 2D angle sensor based on the laser autocollimator (LAC) p ciple was developed to expand the measurement range [28]. Lei Common 1D accelerometers cannot meet the requirements of the aerospa and other multidimensional measurement fields due to the complexity and sionality of vibration.…”

“…Nevertheless, temperature variations considerably influence the measurement accuracy of these precise instruments [3]. Research shows the structure deformation caused by using common materials, such as aluminum (Al), steel, and iron, is necessary to fabricate workpieces to improve stability, for example symmetrical design, grooving, and honeycomb structure [13][14][15]. Nonetheless, the thermal deformation model of workpieces must be obtained before manufacture.…”

“…However, they can only be used to reduce the deformation of the upper surface of the workpiece and are not suitable for the other surfaces of the workpiece. Cheng et al [14] presented a symmetrical design method to optimize a 2D optoelectronic angle sensor, and the sensor's thermal stability was improved by approximately three times. However, the nonuniform thermal deformation of the base is ignored in their study.…”
