Modeling and Flocking Consensus Analysis for Large-Scale UAV Swarms

Abstract: Recently, distributed coordination control of the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) swarms has been a particularly active topic in intelligent system field. In this paper, through understanding the emergent mechanism of the complex system, further research on the flocking and the dynamic characteristic of UAV swarms will be given. Firstly, this paper analyzes the current researches and existent problems of UAV swarms. Afterwards, by the theory of stochastic process and supplemented variables, a differential-integr… Show more

“…In essence, swarm theory refers to individuals selforganizing to work collectively to accomplish goals. Swarm theory relates to both natural and artificial life, and mathematicians have studied the organization of ant colonies (Dorigo et al 1999) and flocking behavior of birds and insects (Li et al 2013), in an attempt to understand this phenomenon. Swarm theory is already being used with unmanned autonomous vehicles for first response to disasters, investigating potentially dangerous situations, search and rescue, and for military purposes (http://bit.ly/1Pel9Qz).…”

“…Compared with other intelligent algorithms such as GA, ACO, PSO, this algorithm has a better performance in searching the optimal solution. In our pre-work [21]- [23], we modeled, analyzed and researched the related content of LAV swarm cooperative combat. The LAVs cooperative combat needs real-time or near real-time path planning.…”
