Modeling and analysis of disassembly systems using continuous Petri nets

Abstract: The disassembly system considered here is a plant for which a different station carries out each operation. In other words, every operation with no precedence relation are carried out in parallel. The modeling approach adopted here consists in splitting the disassembly system into stations, each one having the same structure, and being represented by the same continuous Petri net. It constitutes a simple representation of the system. Under certain assumptions, this representation has allowed us to characterize… Show more

“…Most of the graphical techniques (AND/OR graphs, IDEF models, Petri Nets, etc.) are used to examine disassembly levelling and sequencing problems (Dong & Arndt, 2003;Duta, Filip, & Henrioud, 2002;Fernandez & Zerhouni, 2001;Jehng, Peng, & Zhou, 2002;Kumar Singh, Tiwari, & Mukhopadhyay, 2003;Li, Khoo, & Tor, 2002;Tang, Zhou, & Caudill, 2000;Xirouchakis & Kiritsis, 1997). Zussman and Zhou (1999) recognise the uncertainties involved during the disassembly process and propose a Petri Net (Murata, 1989) based methodology for adaptive disassembly planning.…”

“…Cselenyi and Banyai [55] also demonstrated a modelling system based on PNs which takes into consideration the stochastic parameters and non-stationary phenomena brought about by changing service programming. Fernandez and Zerhouni [56] discussed modelling and analysing disassembly processes using a continuous Petri net (CPN). The di erence between a PN and a CPN is that the marking in the PN is discrete, while in the CPN it is continuous.…”
