Worldwide, new devices in every sphere of the walk are emerging daily, and a more significant percentage of them are software-driven. Consequently, the software development process is prone to errors, bugs, and frequent changes to the requirements and the software leading to abnormal deviation in time to deliver. Another aspect being considered is the security of the software at the time of (Software Development Life Cycle) SDLC. As a part of secure software engineering, the model transformation involves the security aspects in the early phases of SDLC. Hence, Automation of the software development process, though not entirely, is inevitable. In this research, platform-independent models are generated with security attributes such as Integrity, Privacy, Security Audit, non-repudiation, and authentication. A template-based source code generator is used to produce the structure of the source model. The Secure Business Process Model (SBPM) has a set of Unified Modeling Language (UML) artifacts such as analysis level classes and sequence diagrams with security attributes by taking the activity model as a source. Security requirements are associated with elements extracted from the source model. Structural codes for the source model with security-enabled members are generated.

Business process modeling (BPM) is procedural-oriented advanced activity for representing process models with domain knowledge. It consists of all the functional requirements given by the users to build the software. However, nonfunctional requirements such as cost, time, performance, and security are used to evaluate the performance of a system. Among these requirements, security is the vital attribute to be taken care at the early stage of any software development. For example, even governing bodies are heavily dependents on the data system due to security exposures. So automation on model transformation from non-secured metamodel to secured metamodels improves the overall execution of the software evolution process. In this paper, the authors propose an Auto Secure Business Process (AutoSBP) system to automate security to the existing software models. The activity model of existing system is dismantled into attributes and actions to extract its business need.Based on the interpretation from business data, security implications are applied to the existing software models. To fine tune the security implications, ID3 decision learning algorithm is applied. The effect of the system-generated model assures the quality by its complexity metrics.

Model transformation testing has become crucial as model‐driven engineering has raised the abstraction level for developing software systems. Transformation is written to transform models from one level of abstraction to another, for example, model to model or model to code. A major challenge in testing the transformation is the creation of test models, such that (i) they conform to the source meta‐model (i.e., multiplicities and Object Constraint Language [OCL] constraints on meta‐model) and (ii) they provide coverage of the complete transformation (solving branch conditions for traversing all paths). Manual creation of test models requires a lot of time and effort. Still, the validity of the developed test models cannot be ensured. This paper aims to solve the above challenges using an automated search‐based strategy. The proposed approach is two‐stepped. First, valid test models are generated by solving source meta‐model constraints. Second, the generated models are evolved for achieving the structural coverage of the transformation by solving the branch conditions. A toolset model transformation testing environment (MOTTER) is developed to automate the search‐based solution. The proposed work is empirically evaluated on two case studies using four search algorithms. The result reflects that it successfully generates valid test models for achieving desired structural coverage with high performance on both the case studies.
