Model study of short-range three-nucleon forces

Abstract: A phenomenological three-nucleon force is introduced to get rid of discrepancies between experimental data and calculations with a realistic nucleon-nucleon force plus the two-pion exchange three-nucleon force in low-energy three-nucleon scattering observables. Effects of this force, which consists of scalar, vector, and tensor components in spin space, on observables at higher energies are examined.
