Model Komunikasi Kepemimpinan Transformasional Ketua Kelompok Tani Terkait Praktik Pertanian Perkotaan

Abstract

The number of Women Farmers Groups (WFG) in Bogor city has decreased. One of the problems is related to the role of the leaders. Puspasari WFG has existed for some time ago and has made an achievement that takes the name of Bogor city to the provincial level. This case study reveals the communication and leadership style of Puspasari WFG leader. Data was obtained from interviews, focus group discussion and observation. The results showed that the communication style of Puspasari WFG leader is characterized as action-oriented, process-oriented, people-oriented, and ideas-oriented. The WFG leader also indicated the following leadership styles: 1) ability to adapt to the situation of members/groups, 2) willingness to sacrifice, 3) enthusiasm/strong will, 4) setting an example, 5) giving pride towards members, 6) prioritizing togetherness, 7) promoting members to be active, creative, and capable, 8) being full of initiative, 9) being a versatile figure, 10) taking chances. These leadership communication styles represent example of the WFG leader so that the members would follow her leadership.
