Model-Based Analysis and Regulating Approach of Air-Coupled Transducers with Spurious Resonance

Abstract: As an essential characteristic of air-coupled transducers, electrical impedance can provide valuable information for quality control during manufacturing of transducers. It is also found feasible to directly read the optimal operating frequency from the impedance plots when the resonance is independent of the others. However, the spurious resonance emerges when two neighboring resonances are closely spaced, resulting in distorted impedance and ambiguous optimal operating frequency. In this paper, the electrica… Show more

“…When receiving pressure, the pressure in the chamber increases and is transmitted to the pressure gauge for measurement. Based on the contents of the chamber, pressure transducers can be divided into pneumatic transducers and hydraulic transducers (Peng et al, 2020;Rosier, 2020).…”

“…The detected power and voltage are compared with the threshold power, P th , and voltage, V th , including the information of the transmission signal, and then the deviation is calculated. From the deviation, the variation of the modulation index (MI) is expressed in Equation (9).…”

“…To design the sonar transmitter, the circuit diagram is shown in Figure 2. Here, the BVD (Butterworth-Van Dyke) model is used for the equivalent circuit model of the transducer [3,9,21]. The transmitter's topology consists of the full-bridge inverter converting DC to AC, a low-pass output filter reducing THD, and a matching circuit using a magnetizing inductance of the transformer.…”

“…To determine the unknown parameters of the equivalent model, particle swarm optimization (PSO) is used to minimize the fitness function value [23]. X. peng et al presented a method to minimize the estimation errors caused by the interference effect of adjacent resonant modes and to estimate the equivalent model parameters of a relatively low effective resonant mode of the transducer [24].…”
