Mode Switching in a Compressible Rectangular Cavity Flow

Abstract: This study determines the mean and fluctuating pressures for flow through a rectangular shallow cavity (ratio between the length and the depth = 2.43, 4.43, and 6.14; ratio between the length and the width = 0.5, 1.0, and 2.0) at a Mach number of 0.64 in a blowdown transonic wind tunnel. A amplitude modulation analysis is used for the post-processing of the fluctuating pressure signals.
