Death likely results from lysis and necrosis of the digestive gland and sloughing of epithelial tissue from the stomach (Molloy et al 2013c) and may occur days to weeks after ingestion. Because the commercial formulation uses killed cells, environmental effects should be minimized (Molloy et al 2013c).…”
