Mode-based reliability centered maintenance in transmission system

Abstract: Summary Reliability centered maintenance (RCM) is a cost‐effective way to maintaining complex systems, transmission network being one. This paper presents a new method for nonperiodic maintenance scheduling of transmission's elements focusing on failure mode analysis. Adopting a nonperiodic mode‐based viewpoint to maintenance, this paper introduces 6 plans for maintenance in each failure mode. The related Markov model for each plan is proposed, too. Given these Markov models, attempts are made to determine the… Show more

“…As reported in different literatures, MMs have been utilised for investigating maintenance associated with periodic inspections. Based on MM, six maintenance models were introduced in [37,38] to determine the best long-term PM for each failure mode. Theil [39] introduced a model in which inspection states were added to the Markov states.…”

“…It is numerically applied to two common types of CBs, that is, SF6 and minimum oil based on the field data to reveal effects of the real aging and dynamic behavior of CBs on cost/benefits of maintenance policies. In Moslemi et al, a new method is provided for non‐periodic maintenance scheduling of transmission's elements focusing on failure mode analysis. Six plans are introduced for maintenance in each failure mode.…”

“…In the following parts, a concise overview of diverse maintenance programs is presented and their features are discussed. In the following, the RCM programming is described and investigated, and two deterministic and probabilistic models for effectiveness assessment of proposed RCM program in thermal power plants is presented [5][6].…”
