Modal Analysis and Research of Spherical Plain Bearings in Different Materials based on the ANSYS-Workbench

Abstract: Bearings are critical components of mechanical foundation of the relationship between economic development. They are known as the mechanical "joint", and a spherical bearing (an outer of the inner spherical surface and an inner of the outer spherical surface) is a typical plain bearings, which has a simple structure, small size, large capacity, wide temperature range, long life and other advantages. They have been widely applied to metallurgical rolling equipment, filling equipment, hydraulic turbine, turbine-… Show more

“…2 It not only has an important influence on the efficiency, accuracy, reliability, and lifetime of the product, but also decides the basic function of the whole machine. 3 According to various researches, the surface microstructure, machining accuracy, micro-hardness, tribological properties, and interface lubrication of the spherical plain bearings are the main factors contributing to the wear of spherical plain bearing.…”

“…Fig. 15 NO.6 mode shapes It is observed from the 6 order modal frequency and vibration modes that the natural frequency is very high and there are similar vibration modes under different phase because the fixture is axial symmetry [11] . The modal frequencies of the first two steps should be designed as far as possible to the operation frequency range to avoid resonance response and reduce structural damage of the test machine.…”
