Mobile robots and evolutionary optimization algorithms for green supply chain management in a used-car resale company

Abstract: To ensure environment friendly products in the international supply chain scenario, an important initiative is reverse supply chain (RSC). The benefits (environmental and financial) from a RSC are influenced by disposal of reusable parts, cost factors and emissions during transportation, collection, recovery facilities, recycling, disassembly and remanufacturing. During designing a network for reverse supply chain, some objectives related to social, economic and ecological concerns are to be considered. This p… Show more

“…While mechanical engineers care more about how they can use fluid dynamics to move or carry objects, for instance: how to make wind flows become the power of aircraft , how water or wind flows can take away heat efficiently. Therefore, Fluid dynamics already helps engineers a lot, and the engineers can use Fluid dynamics in many different fields [10].…”

“…Aerospace engineering is recognized for rigid tolerance and firm laws, and it puts serious importance on the inspection procedure in manufacturing any air or spacecraft [9]. Robotic system in aerospace engineering performs a non-destructive ultrasonic examination and metrology inspection that are accurate and useful in growing productivity of the manufacturing procedure.…”

“…The current research on green sustainable supply chain management (GSCM) is mainly focused on reducing the impact on the environment through effective design or energy use and considers the social impact on individuals, communities, and wildlife, as well as the commercial impact on profitability [76]. For example, in the design of a reverse supply chain network for a used car resale company, Thank Sathiya et al propose a mobile robot-solar automated guided vehicle (AGV) strategy and a new multi-objective optimization model strategy to reduce logistics costs and reduce greenhouse gases emission [77]. They fully consider social, economic, and ecological goals in the design of green supply chain management, which not only helps the company improve efficiency and social attention but also promotes environmental sustainability and increases social benefits.…”
