“…This result suggests that remanufacturing is more profitable as a strategy if the primary consumer market is less sensitive to changes in contract conditions. For instance, given the sensitivity of mobile phone consumers to contract conditions, it is not surprising that typically R G < 1 for OEMs that remanufacture mobile phones (Jang and Kim (2010), Srivastava (2004), Tanskanen and Butler (2007)).
